Time Out New York - Mortified

Time Out New York - Mortified

Some of the juiciest real life tragedies!

October 16, 2006

The King King nightclub on Hollywood Blvd is proud to welcome back MORTIFIED where audiences have, "never laughed so hard!" (Los Angeles Confidential)

MORTIFIED stars everyday people share their most embarrassing and REAL childhood diary entries, poems, love letters, lyrics and locker notes…in front of total strangers.

Since officially launching in LA in the fall 2002, the core of Mortified has always remained the same. It's, "personal redemption through public humiliation." Where else can you hear grown men and women confront their past with firsthand tales of their first kiss, first puff, worst poem, fights with your mom, youth group retreats, worst hand job, best mall job, etc.? Submissions come from a wide variety of participants - from celebrities, comics and singers to soccer moms, executives and salesmen. All in the noble pursuit of self-degradation.

Mortified was created by Dave Nadelbergh, a writer-producer-angstologist from Los Angeles. Upon discovering a creepy love letter he wrote to a girl in the tenth grade, Mortified was born.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Mortified published book release in 2006, Mortified: Real Words, Real People, Real Pathetic from Simon Spotlight Entertainment.
